The Omaha World Herald spoke with Ashley Evans and Antony Ginandjar of The Squared Division, the creative directors who worked alongside Katy Perry to bring “Witness: The Tour” to life. They talked about where they started with creative ideas, how much “Witness” influenced it, and their favorite moments from the show.

KC: How much input did Katy have into the process?
Evans:
The great thing about working with Katy is that she’s completely hands on. She knows her brand and the direction she wants to take, which makes it all the more delightful to work with her. It’s a collaboration. It’s not just a one way street. She’s open to our ideas and open to listening as much as we’re open to her ideas.

I think the product that we’ve ended with is a definite collaboration with her as an artist and us as directors. Across everything down to the fabric choices of the costumes and the colors of the screen content — every detail. It’s refreshing to work with someone who wants to be involved so heavily with the creative process.
